The Busy Bee Mirror Insert slips into the tray bed in place of the section insert. The tray becomes a mirror surface; everything above it is reflected below.

Children lift their hands and watch them appear in the surface below. They hold a pinecone over it and see two pinecones. They press a finger to the glass and find another pressing back.

A finger notch makes the insert easy to lift out for cleaning or swapping. Impact-resistant acrylic; it will not shatter.

Pairs with the Busy Bee Tray (2, 4, or 6 compartments).

Why it lasts.

We carry the Mirror Insert because self-recognition is a developmental milestone, and mirror play is how it happens. A child who sees themselves in a flat mirror at eye level is having a different experience than a child who sees themselves reflected in a surface they can reach into and interact with from above. The Busy Bee configuration creates that second experience. It is impact-resistant acrylic; it will not shatter in a classroom.

Ways to play

Float petals, leaves, and pebbles on a shallow layer of water and watch the surface double them and catch the sky. Use it for symmetry and reflection play, light and shadow, and calm self-portrait moments. Care & storage
Wipe with a microfiber cloth using equal parts white vinegar and water, sprayed onto the cloth rather than the mirror. Avoid excess moisture during cleaning and play: trapped moisture can desilver the edges over time and leave dark spots. It still works if that happens, but it keeps its clarity best kept dry.
