Coralwhim Cove is a hand-felted coral reef in miniature: blooming coral, kelp fronds, sand-colored pockets, and water detail all stitched into the mat. Children populate it with felt fish, shells, and tiny sea creatures; the scene already knows what it is.

Made from 100% pure New Zealand wool by skilled artisans in Nepal, each piece is hand-felted and beautifully unique. Thick, soft, and strong, it is built for the long, wonder-filled days of play.

From age three through the early school years. Open-ended small-world play across the Pre-K to Grade 2 window.

Why it lasts.

We carry Coralwhim Cove because the coral, kelp, and sand pockets are stitched into the felt; children can trace them, populate them, and return to them across years. It is 100% New Zealand wool, thick and durable, sized for small figures and suited to years of ocean-unit work.

The wool

One hundred percent pure New Zealand wool, hand-felted by skilled artisans in Nepal. Each mat is made individually, so no two are exactly alike, and the felt is thick, soft, and strong enough to take daily handling.

The play

Soft textures and movable pieces draw children into fine-motor arranging, focus, and storytelling. Secret sea creatures, mermaid tales, and the kind of slow make-believe that settles a room.

Who it's for

For the parent
An underwater cove where the detail rewards close looking, and close looking turns ten minutes into an hour.
For the educator
A richly detailed small world that draws sustained attention and descriptive language for the Pre-K to Grade 2 table.
For the gift-giver
Our dreamiest mini world, hand-felted from New Zealand wool with a beaded starfish and pink clam, made to last for years.

Details

Materials & construction

Material: 100% New Zealand Wool

Dyes: Non-toxic, azo-free

Construction: Hand-felted by artisans in Nepal; each piece is unique

Care: Spot-clean for daily use; hand-wash gently with wool wash if needed; lay flat to dry in shade

Ways to play

Small-world and sensory play: build and rearrange the reef, hide sea creatures, and tell ocean and mermaid stories. Pairs naturally with felt animals, play silks, and light-table play.

Skills it builds

Fine-motor control through handling and arranging, focus and calm through tactile play, and language through storytelling and imaginative sea worlds.

Age & safety

Safety

Contains small parts. Not suitable for children under 3 years. Adult supervision is required for children under 3 and recommended for all ages during play. Inspect pieces before use and discontinue use if any damage occurs.

Care & storage

Wool is naturally self-cleaning, so most of the time a spot clean and fresh air is enough. For a deeper refresh, soak for ten minutes in lukewarm water with a little wool wash or baby shampoo, rinse, then finish with a cool rinse. Press flat in a towel to remove excess water and dry flat in the shade, away from direct sunlight.
