Certifications & Sustainability
Made well. Certified.
Every toy at My Toy Wagon is chosen for how it is made - the wood it comes from, the hands that shaped it, the dyes that color it. Here is the paperwork that proves it.
Fair Trade USA Certified
Made by fairly paid hands.
Fair Trade USA certification means the artisans who make your child's toys are paid fair wages, work in safe and healthy conditions, and are free from forced or child labor. A portion of every sale flows back into community development funds - schools, healthcare, and infrastructure - in the communities where these toys are made.
My Toy Wagon's Tara Treasures collection is entirely Fair Trade USA Certified. These are the hand-felted wool playscapes, animal sets, and sensory materials - each one shaped by artisans in Nepal whose names and wages are documented and verified by an independent third party.
When you buy a Tara Treasures felt playscape for your classroom, the money you spend directly improves the lives of the people who made it. That is what Fair Trade means in practice.

Tara TreasuresFSC Certified - Forest Stewardship Council
Wood from responsible forests.
The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is the world's most trusted forest certification system. FSC certification means the wood in your child's toys comes from forests managed to protect biodiversity, worker rights, and the rights of local communities. The entire supply chain - from forest to factory to finished toy - is traceable and audited.
Bauspiel and Drewart, our two primary wooden toy brands, use FSC-certified hardwoods from sustainably managed European forests. Bauspiel uses slow-grown Bavarian beech and linden (known in North America as lime wood). Drewart sources from FSC-certified forests in Eastern Europe.
For schools and parents with sustainability mandates, an FSC-certified wooden toy set is a defensible, documented choice.

Bauspiel DrewartOEKO-TEX Standard 100
No harmful chemicals.
OEKO-TEX Standard 100 is the world's leading independent testing and certification system for textiles. Every single component - fabric, thread, dyes, buttons - has been tested for over 100 harmful substances and verified safe for human health.
Tara Treasures felt playscapes and felt sets carry OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification. The rich colors are achieved with dyes certified free from azo dyes, formaldehyde, heavy metals, and pesticide residues.
For classrooms and homes with children who have sensory sensitivities or skin conditions, OEKO-TEX certification means you can hand these toys to children without reservation.

Tara TreasuresGOTS - Global Organic Textile Standard
Organic from field to finish.
GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) is the world's leading processing standard for organic fibers. It covers the entire supply chain - from the raw fiber (no toxic pesticides or synthetic fertilizers) through to the finished product (no toxic dyes or finishes in processing).
Tara Treasures uses GOTS-certified New Zealand wool to handcraft their felt toys. GOTS certification on the raw wool means it was sourced from farms meeting organic standards - humane animal treatment, no toxic inputs, fully traceable from pasture to workshop.
For families choosing organic, GOTS on the raw material is the most rigorous upstream standard available.

Independent testing that verifies every toy is safe for children by law and by practice.
EN 71 - European Toy Safety
EN 71 is the European Union's mandatory toy safety directive covering mechanical properties, chemical safety, flammability, and electrical safety. Testing is conducted by accredited third-party laboratories. In several chemical safety categories, EN 71 exceeds US CPSIA requirements.
CPSIA - US Consumer Product Safety
CPSIA (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act) is the US federal law governing all children's products. It mandates third-party testing for lead content, phthalates, and other hazardous materials. All toys at My Toy Wagon are CPSIA compliant, with test reports available to institutional buyers upon request.
OT-designed play
Designed with child development in mind.
We carry Button and Bug, a woman-owned brand founded by a pediatric occupational therapist. Every insert is designed around how children learn and develop through play. The wood trays are made in Michigan and the acrylic inserts are made in Illinois. Our natural wooden and felt toys are chosen with the same lens: natural materials, smooth surfaces, open-ended design.
Shop with confidence.
Every toy at My Toy Wagon has been chosen because it meets our standard - beautiful, well-made, certified safe, and built to last beyond a single childhood.
