Why it lasts.

Solid maple, hand-painted. Most of him is left unpainted, so the body is the actual color of the wood rather than white paint over it.

Who it's for

For the parent
It suits a family that wants winter on the shelf rather than Christmas on the shelf.
For the educator
He carries a shelf from December through the rest of the winter, which few seasonal pieces do.
For the gift-giver
It makes the least expensive way into the range, and the one that stays out longest.

Ways to play.

He is the piece that stays out after the tree comes down. Children keep him on a windowsill through January and February, and because he is not tied to Christmas he does not get packed away with the rest.
