Age Recommendations

Recommended ages, in years. Sorted by the developmental window this toy opens, so it lands in the right season.

Why it lasts.

We carry Q Toys at My Toy Wagon because they finish wood to be felt rather than sealed smooth, and because they make under a Fair Trade scheme in Vietnam with a zero-waste principle behind the material choices.

Who it's for

For the parent
It works from about a year old and keeps working, because the same sixteen blocks get harder as the child decides to make them harder.
For the educator
Shape, size and colour in one piece of equipment, suitable from the youngest room upward.
For the gift-giver
A first-birthday present that is still being used at three.

Ways to play.

Post the blocks through. Stack them by size. Sort by colour. Tip them all out and start again, which is most of it.

Details

Materials & construction

Handmade from solid, sustainably sourced plantation timber and finished with beeswax and natural oils, so the grain stays palpable under a hand rather than sealed smooth.

Made in Vietnam under a Fair Trade scheme. Q Toys work to a zero-waste principle and also make from the industrial byproducts of coconut and lychee trees.

Age & safety

Safety

Tested to ASTM F963, the US toy safety standard. Recommended for ages 1 and up.

Care & storage

Wipe with a dry cloth, or one barely damp. Do not soak, and keep it out of direct sun so the colours hold.

Because the timber is natural and the work is done by hand, grain, colour and size vary a little from piece to piece. That is the material showing, not a fault.
