Materials & construction

Each of the eight figures is made from linden wood and painted by hand using water-based acrylic paints for a soft matte finish. Mixed-media touches include paper accents on the drum triangles and the mouse's crown and a cotton-thread tail on the horse. Because of their artisanal craftsmanship, facial expressions and painted details may vary.

Ways to play

Open the theater box stage, position the ballerina, nutcracker, soldiers, mouse king, and other figures, and stage scene after scene of the Nutcracker story. The decorative windows and cardboard seating invite imaginative scene-building and free retelling.
