Every mud kitchen needs one vessel that holds the good stuff, and this is it: a smooth-edged little bowl carved to receive treasures, potions, petals, and whatever the strainers just caught.

It was made to work with the whole Wild Tree Tools range: the strainers rest across its rim, the spoons serve into it, and the day's collection ends up inside it.

Why it lasts.

We carry Wild Mountain Child because these are real tools, not toy-shaped props: hand-carved, hand-sanded, and hand-polished from Doussie plantation timber by Vietnamese artisans in a traditional craft village, finished in food-grade oil, and designed in Australia by a mother who watched her own child's sensory play and built the tools it was missing. No two are the same, and that is the point.

Who it's for

For the parent
The keeper of collections: acorns, sea glass, potion ingredients, and every small treasure the walk home produces.
For the educator
The receiving vessel for transfer work, sorting, and sensory-table serving; sized for small hands to carry with care.
For the gift-giver
The piece that completes a Wild Mountain Child set: give it with a spoon and a strainer and you have given a whole kitchen.

Ways to play.

Collect treasures, mix potions, serve mud-kitchen courses, and catch what the strainers strain: the Daisy Strainer rests right on its rim, and the Sunflower Slotted Spoon serves straight into it.

Details

Materials & construction

Hand-carved, hand-sanded, and hand-polished from Doussie, a Vietnamese plantation timber, then finished with food-grade oil. Free of harmful chemicals, paints, and toxins, with a smooth, splinter-free finish. Grain and carving vary piece to piece; that variation is the handwork showing, not a defect.

Care & storage

Play in water is fine; just don't leave it submerged for days. Towel-dry after wet play, refresh the wood now and then with a rub of beeswax or vegetable oil, use only mild dish soap if needed, and never the dishwasher.
