This felt pod is shaped like a lily blossom, with a fairy door that opens, a lookout window at the back, and a soft felt tie so it can hang from a doorknob, a bedpost, or a low branch. A tiny handmade fairy comes tucked inside when it arrives, dressed in colors to match, the first resident, ready to move in.

Hung up, it gives the fairy a home above the room. Brought down to the floor, it becomes the centerpiece of a pond scene, the kind of place fairies and merfolk both come to play. Open the door to send her out in the morning, and close it again when the day is done. The lookout window is the detail children find last and return to often, wondering what she can see from up there and who she is watching.

It is a home with a whole life inside it.

Materials & construction

Each piece is made from 100% natural sheep's wool, sourced directly from Australia and New Zealand for its quality and purity. The wool is tested to the CE standard and colored with non-toxic, child-safe dyes. No synthetic binders, adhesives, plastics, or formaldehydes are used at any stage. The fibers are bound entirely through hand-felting: layers of wool pressed in warm, soapy water until the natural barbs lock permanently into a dense, resilient sheet. Every finished piece is hand-sewn without molds or machines.

Himalayan Felt Co. was founded by Lobsang and Miranda, who began traveling to Nepal to import felt and eventually opened their own dedicated factory there. Every piece is made by local Nepalese women, employed directly by the company: taught traditional felt-making skills, given a safe and family-friendly place to work, and paid a fair wage. Himalayan Felt Co. toys are CE marked and tested to the European toy safety standard, EN71. Because every piece is made by hand, slight variation in shape and color is natural and expected.

Hang the pod from a doorknob, a bedpost, or a low branch and let a fairy move in. Open the door to send her out; tuck her back inside when the day is done. Bring the pod down to the floor as part of a larger fairy garden scene, paired with the Felt Lily Leaf, felt flowers, or other small-world pieces. The back window is a lookout: who lives next door, and what can she see?

Care & storage

Spot clean with a lightly damp cloth and a drop of mild soap. Do not submerge in water, machine wash, or wring: the hand-felted fibers will shrink and lose their shape permanently if saturated. Air dry flat, away from direct heat and sunlight. Store in a dry place. Natural dyes may mellow gently over years of use; this is a characteristic of the material, not a defect.
