Now booking Class-size and multi-room orders · Many lines are made to order, so lead time runs about three to eight weeks from the date your purchase order reaches us, not from the date of your quote · If you are paying by card, we place your order with the makers on payment. Every quote states an arrival window for each line, and the few makers who run longer are flagged on your quote.

Needle-felted by hand in Nepal. Slow goods, on purpose.

The felt houses are hand-felted from 100% natural sheep’s wool by women artisans in Nepal. The wooden pieces come from workshops in Germany, Indonesia, Poland, Romania, Spain, Taiwan and the USA.

What a Village Is

Small enough to carry. Large enough to live inside for an afternoon.

A fairy village: felt homes with petal roofs and embroidered doors, little wooden folk in stitched hoods, and a round wool mat with a carrot garden growing through it. Together they make one world a young child sets up, rearranges, and returns to. No batteries. No instructions. The tending is the play.

Every felt house here is hand-felted in Nepal, so every roof, spire and stem curls a little differently. That difference is the work.

Mushroom Garden Fairy Home.

Felted wool. A whole world on one mat.

A felt toadstool home opens onto a carrot garden, a stepping-stone path, and a mushroom table with little stone stools. Everything gathered onto a single round wool mat, small enough to fit in two hands. The gnome shown is not included; it is from the Village Folk.

Every village needs its people.

Children always ask, who lives here. The Wonderheart gnomes do. Solid birch bodies, hand-felted hoods, sized to stand in the doorways and along the path. Two color families, twelve figures each, and a small cast of companions for the path.

A note on loose parts

The same pieces build a season.

The mushrooms, grasses, flowers, and stones that build a fairy village are open-ended materials. They carry straight over to Section 02, Nature Play & Inquiry, for sorting, counting, and building.

A note on the woodland

A village in felt. A whole woodland in Section 04.

A fairy village wants its animals: a deer family wandering past, a fox at the treeline, a hedgehog in the leaves. Hand-painted Bumbu woodland animal families live in Section 04, Woodland. They move into the felt village naturally.
