Materials & construction

The Lotus Flower is carved from maple wood and finished with non-toxic, water-based paint. The bloom and its lily-pad base are sculpted as one piece, with no small parts to come loose.

Bumbu hand-carves and hand-paints its toys in Romania. Because each piece is worked by hand, the grain and the exact color vary slightly from one to the next. The wood keeps its natural texture, so light marks and color variation are normal.

Care & storage

Clean by hand with a dry or slightly damp cloth, never in the dishwasher and never left to soak, since trapped water lifts paint and roughens the grain. Stored somewhere cool and dry it lasts for years, and a little beeswax now and then keeps the finish fresh.
