All four presses in one order. A pocket press a child carries on a walk, two mid-sized presses for a table, and a wooden studio press that stays on the shelf and outlives the class that used it.

Pressing is the one nature-table craft with a delay built in. A flower goes in, the room waits a fortnight, and something different comes out. Four presses running at once means four groups can each have something in progress rather than queuing for one.

Drewart

Drewart has been making wooden toys in Strzelce Gorne, about fifteen kilometres from Bydgoszcz in Poland, since Jerzy Muszynski founded the workshop in 1982. It is still a shop of about thirty people. Pieces are cut and shaped on the machines, then assembled by hand and checked one at a time before they leave. The wood is finished with natural oils, with acrylic paints used sparingly where color is needed.

CE marked. EN 71 applies to the acrylic paints Drewart uses on its painted lines.

Tender Leaf Toys

Tender Leaf Toys are made by Mentari International, a family-run factory in Indonesia that makes every Tender Leaf piece and gives dependable work to hundreds of people from the surrounding villages. The Tender Leaf team spends about two months a year on the factory floor alongside them. Every stage happens under one roof, from raw timber to hand-painting, assembly and checking, which is why the finish holds steady from batch to batch. The wood is reclaimed rubberwood, timber from rubber trees that no longer produce latex, and a new tree is planted for every one reclaimed, in partnership with the Indonesian government. Finished toys are wrapped in paper and packed in recycled cardboard.

Toverlux

Toverlux is Annefleur and Femke, two mothers and lifelong friends working from the Netherlands, Annefleur in Naarden-Vesting and Femke in Amsterdam. They founded it to make lamps rooted in Waldorf principles, working with a community of nature-inspired artists. The flower press and silhouette kit come out of that workshop: they are made from the birch left over when the lamps are cut, so the offcuts become products rather than waste. Printed with food-grade inks.
