Huckleberry Kaleidoscope

A pocket kaleidoscope with an empty viewing chamber children fill themselves. Pop in a leaf, a pinch of flower petals, a few colored beads — anything small enough to slot into the front-loading chamber — and look through to see the find refracted into a symmetrical pattern.

Unlike a static kaleidoscope, this one rewards curiosity: each new walk yields a new scope. The mirror arrangement inside does the math; the child supplies the materials.
